Day of Infamy (DOD reborn)

Ahoy gents! Been a half decade or two since I've played with most of you. Anyone checked out Day of Infamy on Steam?

It's something of a spiritual successor to DOD, they have Valve/DOD team's blessing and have remade several classic maps. It comes out of early access later this month.

Oh, and it's bloody fantastic.

Looks nice. I hope they didn't add in all that stupid unrealistic crap in DOD:S where you can walk through people and FF is off by default.

I wonder how it will compare to Battalion 1944.

I really liked insurgency, but even that game has barely caught on compared to the bigger titles. I hope it does well.

oh my god, i was checking out day of infamy and then I saw days of war as well. It's exactly the same as dod. It even has the same death noticficaitons up in the top right with the same colour coding. The maps are even the same! wtf?

yup which way will teh community go?

Fuji/Parts has his community going towards one of those games...can't remmeber which one.

i can't believe they took maps directly from dod and are now using it. seems like a trend back to ww2 games. really weird, like plaid shirts.

the good thing is it looks 10x better than dod:s

Day of Infamy got the OK for recreating DOD maps. Never heard of the other one.
