Any and all Star Wars fans should go see this movie.

that good huh?

imax or non?

I am against seeing movies in theatres because they all end up being in the super expensive thx, superduper audio, or 3d version and I can't stand it.

I thought it was a great movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I still wonder if the franchise would have succeeded if all the movies were made in order. Obviously the cast of 4,5,6 made the franchise what it is today. My hypothetical question is where would Star Wars franchise rank if you had the same quality of cast and but made the movies in order? Same criteria for the special effects.

enjoyed it in imax. Tho prolly not imax worthy (spent the last 1.75hr holding pee tho). I only go tuesdays fluid 8$ for 2D 9-10$ for 3D $12-13 for imax.

NOt some of Yen's bestwork but good enough.

when u mean same quality of cast....same actors per movie...or
same quality of actors aside from episode I-2?

....
Given the number of remakes of DC & Marvel, and the amount of star trek movies...star wars could probably survive.

...if ur talking about story...not sure since 4-6 was the making of a hero & 1-3 was the making of a villian.

Rocket 12-29-2016 04:16 PM

When I say the same quality of cast, I meant that all the movies would have actors as good as Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill. Even though you could probably have replaced Mark Hamill with someone just as good.
The other movies would have been better without the Hayden dude. He screwed things up IMO and George Lucas forgetting that the actors had a big role in the movies' success and not just the special effects.

i actually liked christensen in that role...can't imagine the younger vader to be too gungho or like luke...if he needed to progress to vader, tho i guess he was kinda like the luke of Ep4.

Couldn't stand the kid that play child vader tho. But i guess he needed to be tha way too.

...didn't like the fact that they CGI'd tarkin though shoulda did a look-alike recast.

Given the chance, the prequels probably would've been much better. I still think though it started where it should've.

The prequels were terrible, and I'm being fair.

I thought the plot was very hard to follow. Especially once they got to the strange little NASA palm tree/launch pad planet with little knots of fighting.

The Imperial walkers seemed way bigger than they were in Empire Strikes Back.

I was amused by the Tarkin model - other than being a bit tight-faced, he was cool with me. About as much facial expression as Carrie Fischer in #7, maybe a tad more.

I'd rank this one as #8 out of 8, mainly because I'm such a fan of the originals. 1-3 are okay since I got to bond with my kids over them. I watched #4 12 times back when it came out. You know, before you could even rent movies. I'd slip into the bathroom and sneak back into the theater, watch it 2 or 3 times on the same ticket. It's so much easier to do with multi-plexes, but back in '77 they weren't common.

When I saw this part of your comment I thought..What kind of movie are you talking about Stu? Sounds like you were talking about a pron theater to me.

Stu Pidazole 01-11-2017 10:46 AM

Not a pron (sic) theater, just big single screen theaters that they'd clear out completely between shows. Porn theaters usually would show the same movie over and over, and never clear anyone out until after midnight. Yes, I'm old enough to have attended a few of these theaters. Me and PeeWee in the back row.......

Watched Rogue One again while flying to Maui this month. Made more sense than the first time. Maybe by the 3rd viewing I'll think it was worth being in the Star Wars pantheon.
